Evan Rachel Wood joins the cast of True Blood to play Louisiana vampire queen, Sophie-Anne. She has already filmed her first episode, which will air on HBO on August 30th.

Sophie-Anne is called upon by Bill to seek advice in a desperate situation. Wood's character will grow and expand as True Blood embarks on it's 3rd season.

"No one is ever very happy to see her [character],"

"She's very powerful, capricious and most likely insane," offers series creator Alan Ball. "[She] has more than one secret agenda which we will slowly become aware of over season 3." Will this have anything to do with Bill and Sookie's relationship on the rocks? Or maybe this is where or why or how Eric comes into the picture as Sookie's love interest?
